Is it a biscuit, is it bread, or even maybe a scone? You decide.
All I know is that I love this recipe.. it is really versatile.. I loved it so much that I blogged about it! For the recipe go here.
Those of you that went to Calvary Chapel High School probably remember the awesome banana bread that we had at snack time.. and if you didn't go to school there, just trust the rest of us..It's really yummy. :) Anyway, here is the recipe for it, straight from the hands of the baker herself.
**I will add a disclaimer here .. when my friend and I made it and took the pictures it was late, we were tired an hyped up on Starbucks. :) So of course some silly, brainlessness occurred. But not to worry I posted the recipe at the bottom. Oh, and at the bottom you will also find my husband's silly take on the whole thing..but I think he lies.
The ingredients.. (minus the sugar..oops!)
We forgot to put the sugar in the picture above but it's here ..see!
1 1/2 Cups Sugar and 2/3 Cup Butter
Ok, so this is where you are supposed to cream the sugar and butter together.. well, we forgot.. don't do what we do.. or you can if you want, it all worked out the same in the end. :)
2 Cups of Flour!
2 Eggs.. gotta love the action shot!
1/2 Cup Milk
(no I don't have a cow, we just forgot to take a picture of the milk being added)
Mix.. now you can use your mixer if you want but it was late and we didn't want to deal with cleaning up the mixer afterward.
1tsp. Salt,1/4 tsp. Baking Soda, and 2tsp Baking Powder
Now the recipe doesn't call for it but I put vanilla in everything.. ok well not everything but ya know what I mean..and the amount, ummm.. well a splash I suppose.. I didn't measure it. :)
1 1/2 Cups Banana (or Beenana if you are like the little boys around here).. anyway mine were frozen..that is why you don't see any actual bananas. You can use fresh if you have them..just make sure they are really ripe.
Mix it up and this is what you end up with..yummy batter.. ok, we confess we licked the bowl after.. and yes there are raw eggs but we like to live on the wild side! :)
Spray with Cooking Spray
Pour into Pans.. we used two loaf pans, but these also make wonderful muffins.
Mmmmm! Just in case you didn't believe us! See the finger tracks in the bowl?
Ready to go in the oven.. 350 degrees until the cake tester comes out clean and they look like this..
