Let's look at Esther 4...
Seventeen years before our story in Esther takes place, the Jews were given a chance to return to Jerusalem, but many of them chose to stay in Babylon. It didn’t make sense to them to leave their homes and place of prosperity.
Often the best decision is not the easy one.
Even if this was not the best decision, God was with them, He did not forsake them, just like He never leaves or forsakes us.
“Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
