and thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:20
I am blessed with a roof over my head to call home even if it is an apartment (I love my apartment by the way, someone asked why I added built in cabinets in my dining room since it was JUST an apartment.. I was slightly offended.)
I have always been a bit high strung about inviting people over unless I have cleaned the house thoroughly, but I am slowly getting over it because just recently my Mom was put on hospice because of her dementia and now we literally have a revolving door of nurses and a bath aide parading through my house two or three times a week.
It is important to remember that people come over to see us not to inspect our house, the true meaning of home is the love between the people that live in it. We need to invest in each other and in things that will last for eternity. Home is family and friends and laughter and silliness, a soft place to land... even if it isn't always perfectly clean or decorated just the way we want.
So let's grab hold of our #fiveminutesofbrave and invite some friends over to enjoy our company in our not so clean house.
Just like the Nester says it doesn't have to perfect to be beautiful.
Oh, and sorry about the mess, but we live here.
